History
The North American Pari-Mutuel
Regulators Association (NAPRA) is a tax exempt organization which
was incorporated as a Kansas non-profit corporation on June 28,
1997. The original founding members were comprised of the following
jurisdictions:
Alabama (Birmingham) (Macon
County), Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma,
Oregon, Saskatchewan, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Wyoming
Jurisdictions joining later were:
Alberta Racing Corporation, British Columbia,
Canadian Pari-Mutuel Agency, Colorado, Florida, Iowa,
Kentucky, Manitoba, Maryland, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico,
North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West
Virginia

- The regulatory members contracted
with American Card Technology, Inc. to create and maintain a user
friendly database. The goal for this database was to be as easy as possible to
access and retrieve licensing information and at no charge over and
above member dues.
- This system, which currently has
over 750,000 listings, is operating smoothly, supplying licensing
and ruling information which is current, valid and reliable.
