NAPRA Announces 2001 Scholarship Recipients

July 2, 2001

NAPRA has awarded scholarships to Laura Rogene Plato, of the University of Arizona's Race Track Industry Program, and Scott Peine, of the University of Louisville's Equine Industry Program.
These scholarships are awarded to deserving individuals who will be true assets to the horse or greyhound racing industry.  This year's recipients will each receive a $2,000 scholarship in support of their educational
programs.
"NAPRA is proud to be able to offer these scholarships to students in the industry," said Sherry Strebel, NAPRA's president. "Supporting education in the pari-mutuel industry has been, and will continue to be, a NAPRA tradition."
Laura Rogene Plato is a student at the University of Arizona and is studying Animal Science.  She originally is from Florida but uprooted her family to attend the Race Track Industry Program in Arizona.
Scott Peine is a student at the University of Louisville studying Equine Management.   He has served as a production assistant for the TVG network during the coverage of the 2001 Kentucky Derby and for the coverage of the
